Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biomedical Sciences & Bachelor of Medicine (Chinese Medicine)

Programme Outline

The unique and innovative "East Meets West" approach exposes students to 21st century biomedical sciences as well as principles and practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences is conferred by NTU and the Bachelor of Medicine (Chinese Medicine) by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM). The double degree consists of:

  • 3 years at NTU School of Biological Sciences which includes:
    • Biomedical modules (taught in English)
    • Traditional Chinese Medicine modules (taught in Chinese by visiting BUCM faculty)
    • General Education Requirements
  • 2 years at BUCM incorporating TCM advanced principles and clinical training

To broaden the learning experience

  • General Education Requirements allow students to take courses outside biological sciences.
  • Undergraduate Research Experience on Campus (URECA) is available to enable early exposure to laboratory-based research.

Awarding of Honours classifications is subject to students meeting GPA requirements.
